Happy Mother’s Day!

So, one thing about me, is that I love to do crafty crafts.  It seems fitting, since I’m a preschool teacher.  Here is a mother’s day craft that I thought I would share.  It’s the perfect last minute gift for a twenty or thirty year old to give to their mother because they were just too cheap to buy them anything.  Or better yet, this is the perfect craft for all of those parents whose kids didn’t get them anything.  You can force your kids to make you one! Now how special would that be?

Mother’s Day Thumbprint Flower Craft

Step one: Supplies

You will need:  A half sheet of white paper, scissors (I like the wavy ones), glue, a green marker, a green stamp pad, and two more stamp pads of any color. You will also need a small photo to go in the middle of the flower (not pictured).

Step Two:

Place six or seven thumbprints in a circle on the paper, leaving room for another color thumbprint inbetween.

Step Three:


Fill in spaces with a second color.

Step Four:

Do another row of flower petals.

Step Five:

Draw a stem with a marker, and use the green stamp pad for leaves.

Step Six:



Cut out a wallet sized picture into a circle.

Step Seven:



Glue the picture into the middle of the flower. Ta-dah! A fingerprint flower. Frame it, make it into a card, or just give it to Mom as is.

Because it was made from a part of me.
My painted thumb made each flower part,
To show I love you with all my heart.

Ahhhh….. Doesn’t that just melt your heart. I love it.  Now go be nice to your mom’s.
